Well that vacation didn't go the way we wanted! Noah started a fever/flu on the day we left and it lasted for 7 days. When it finally ended he was sore and cranky, then to add to the fun Dad got the fever/flu. YAY! Our flight home was delayed 6 hours and I still feel like crap, but for the sake of this post I will ignore my "Debbie Downer" instinct and focus on the good moments we managed to have. Everyone loves pictures of other peoples vacations, right?
Noah enjoyed running around new places and exploring, especially on stairs since we don't have any at home.
We did make a stop at an Urgent Care center when the fever wouldn't stop just to make sure it wasn't an ear infection or something more serious.
We took a trip north of Waikiki to find Oahu's most famous bakery "Leonard's" and have a local specialty called a "malasadas" which is basically a doughnut in ball form and optionally filled with custard. They have been around since 1952 and make the malasadas fresh to order.
They are delicious! Warm, soft, sweet and better than any Krispy Kreme.
The streets were lit with torches at night and it was beautiful, we came across a bunch of people hula-hooping and Mom showed off her stuff.
There is a market style shopping area called Dukes Lane that is pretty well known. Be warned if you go there the shop owners can be very aggressive.
We managed to make it out for a sit down dinner once and we went to an all you can eat sushi place with a dinner show.
We watched a lot of beautiful sunsets.
Noah loves planes and runs to the window every time one flies over out house. Naturally he was very excited to be at the airport.
And here is a few more vacation photos...
