We are getting our dose of reality in Hawaii and spoiling the heck out of Noah. The flight here was uneventful and I wish I could travel as comfortably as Noah!
One of the first restaurants we hit was The Pig and the Lady were we ordered the somewhat famous "Works". This version included a flank streak covered with bone marrow and escargot, this was served with local green to make wraps and the biggest marrow bone you have ever seen! After dinner we caught a Christmas parade and enjoyed all the lights.
Noah's newest obsession is motorcycles (better now than when he's 18!). The cause of this new interest was the Toys for Tots parade of over 6,000 motorcycles.
On the 7th, a few days after the motorcycle parade, we caught another parade honoring Pearl Harbor. Noah was all about the jet plane. We also visited the Pearl Harbor base, it was a great and reverent experience to be here on the commemorative day.
The first hike we did was the very touristy Diamond Head, but it was cool to see the crater and get some exercise.
We have had plenty more excitement and I will follow up when we return next week. Until then Merry Christmas everyone!!
